I just wanted to share my "discovering Night Ranger" experience.
I never had one single epiphany like most here,
I sort of discovered them in "stages"...
See, I had two older brothers, so I had plenty exposure to
Rock 'n Roll at a very early age. I can remember getting to
ride around when both of them first got their driver's liscenses
listening to Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Bon Jovi so loud
it hurt (I was only 10). Odd, too, that all those bands are
still around... This was around 1982.
So, anyway, when I got a little older, I was ready for my
own boombox around 1985 (age 13). Well, they played
this song "Sentimental Street" alot at jr. high dances, so
the first tape I ever bought myself was "7 Wishes,"
(and the second was Mr. Mister.)
But, I wasn't hooked on Night Ranger until I was looking
through tapes one day, and found *another* Night Ranger tape.
All I knew was I really liked "7 Wishes," so I had to buy this
other tape. I took it home, and the first time listening to it,
I heard this song, and I thought, "Oh my god, I remember
this song. They sing this? This is a great song!" The tape
was Midnight Madness, and the song was "Sister Christian".
That was the clencher for me. From that day, I've bought
every CD (and tape version, too!) I could get my hands on.
