It was 1982 & the local radio station where I lived (Rehoboth Beach,
Delaware) was doing their "Smash or Trash" thingie & this new band
called Night Ranger was the band de jour. They played "DTMYLM" &
"Sing Me Away". I was totally blown away by not only the guitar work,
but also by the song writing. (What good is great guitar work without at a
good song behind it?). I was on my way to meet some friends & made a
detour to the record store. Of coarse they were like "Night what?...Taint
never heard nufin of dem" After going to about 3 stores, I was able to find
Dawn Patrol. Wore the cassette out & bought the LP (remember them?)
so I could tape it. Ever since then I was hooked. Brad showed me what that
little bar on my guitar was for. After that I bought every album the day
it came out. I still have the LP's. Of coarse, I have them on CD now.
I've only seen them 5 times. Had to wait until I moved to Atlanta.
They never played Delaware, but who does? Had the pleasure of meeting
them during the 7 Wishes tour & they were very nice. Really had a chance
to sit & talk to Brad on the tour before Mojo came out & then on the Mojo
tour, & he's really a very nice, open & honest guy. He said next time
they're in town we'll get together & jam....Can't wait....
