Thw show at The Edge in Palo Alto, June 23, 1999

Caught the guys in action last night at the Edge in Palo Alto. Standing room only. It was great to see them at a small club. The fans were stoked and so was the band.

They opened with "New York Time" from Neverland, but didn't play anything else from Seven or Neverland. Someone in the audience held up a sign asking for "Panic in Jane" that Jack acknowledged and pointed out to Brad. That was my only complaint - I would have liked to hear more of the new stuff. Mostly, they played "greatest hits" from Midnight Madness and Seven. Also, a couple of Damn Yankees songs featuring Jack on 12 string guitar (he broke a string - guess it will be awhile before they trust him again with more than four1).

After not having seen the band for a long, long time.... it was great! They sound as good or better than ever musically. Kelly has a little trouble with the high notes, but hey - they've been doing it for 19 years now!

I'm looking forward to seeing them again in Visalia Sept. 4th.
